ABOUT THE LADY
"Prairie Lady" started out as a cottage industry in the gently rolling hills and golden prairie lands in Northeast Texas. We have grown to include products to enhance our soaps and toiletries as well as supply other soap makers with quality ingredients in order to promote the benefits of "homemade" soaps and toiletries.

THIS IS NOT GRANDMA'S LYE SOAP
I use some of Grandma's best ideas and recipes. And I am always searching for new and different ingredients as well as the "tried and true" classic additives to bring out the desired results. Some of my soaps contain gentle exfoliates such as oatmeal, ground coffee beans, and Callendula petals. I also use a variety of fine essential oils and fragrances Grandma didn't have available. Of course my soaps and toiletries do include her favorite classic scents such as Rose, Lavender, and Herbal. Modern technology has given us the benefit of accurate measurements and improved ingredients. Fine oils and herbs are more abundant than when our Grandmothers made soap, so the soaps made today are mild and wonderfully fragrant. Prairie Lady soaps and toiletries are extensively tested upon friends and neighbors, who readily comment upon quality, color, fragrance and longevity of our products. If it doesn't pass our "friends and family" rigorous testing, it is never offered for sale.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY YOU ITCH OR HAVE DRY SKIN AFTER BATHING?
Most people know Glycerin is good for the skin. Glycerin is a natural occurrence in homemade soap and moisturizes the skin. The commercial bar you'll find in your grocery aisle is probably NOT soap, but a synthetic detergent bar that may cleanse by harshly stripping away the skin's protective oils. Additionally, commercially made soap has salts and other harsh chemicals added to remove Glycerin to sell to cosmetic companies.

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT PRAIRIE LADY'S SOAP?
Prairie Lady makes soap with all the original glycerin left in the soap as well as other beneficial ingredients so you can enjoy the benefits and pamper your skin. All of our soaps include Coconut oil for rich bubbly lather, Olive oil as an emollient, and Palm oil for a firm, long lasting bar. We also include other fine oils depending on what type bar we make. You will find Essential oils, cosmetic fragrance oils, natural or FD&C approved colors in our specialty soaps. We continue to actively study the products we use, and we're committed to meeting the highest standard in our production practices. Each ingredient has a purpose.

We manufacture in small batches using either Cold Process, or Hot Process. Due to the handmade nature of these soaps, variations may occur. We cut our soaps by hand and not by machine press. You will find the soap has a slightly irregular look all it's own and no two bars are exactly alike.

CARE OF YOUR HOMEMADE SOAPS
Shopping for soap in the market has conditioned us to expect specific packaging or boxes, and a hard bar of soap that retains it shape in the bath or shower. Homemade soaps need the air to stay firm and keep their shape. Do not store your beautiful soap in plastic bags or containers. It is best not to let your soap sit in a dish that collects water. Like all soaps, your homemade soap will last longer if it is allowed to dry between use.
